Garden Roses Care & Handling
Process the flowers as soon as they arrive by cutting the stems 1 inch from the bottom and removing any foliage that may remain below the water line as the leaves create bacteria. Immediately after the stems are cut, place them in the water with hydrating solution.
Keep the corrugated wrap (carton sleeve) on each bunch for the first 2-3 hours in order to re-hydrate the garden roses properly. If the wrap is removed during the re-hydration process, the roses heads will droop. Once removing the cardboard wrap, allow the flowers to hydrate for another 4-5 hours before using.
Garden roses will appear to resemble a rose when closed. They will take a few days to open up and bloom completely. Below you may find the bloom process for garden roses.
