Tinted and Painted Roses Care & Handling Guide
Tinted roses are known for their vibrant and unique colors, but they need a bit of extra care to stay fresh. Follow these steps to keep your tinted roses looking their best:
- Trim the Stems: Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle under running water to improve water absorption. Use sharp shears to avoid crushing the stems.
- Remove Lower Leaves: Remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline in the vase. Leaves in water can lead to bacterial growth, shortening the lifespan of your roses.
- Use a Clean Vase: Ensure the vase is thoroughly clean before placing the roses. Residual bacteria can quickly multiply and harm the flowers. Wash with soap and water before use.
- Change Water Daily: Replace the water in the vase every day to keep it fresh and free from bacteria. You can also add flower food to extend the roses' life.
- Be Careful with the Dye: It’s common for the dye to transfer to the water, so change it regularly. The dye can also stain skin and clothing, so handle the roses with care and consider using gloves.
- Ideal Placement: Keep the roses in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight and fruits that emit ethylene, like apples or bananas, which can speed up the aging process of the flowers.
