DIY Fall Flower Bouquet with Orange Roses, Yellow Spider Mums, and Eryngium

With the autumn season in full bloom, we wanted to teach you how to make a gorgeous fall flower bouquet using classic roses, chic spider mums, and striking eryngium. This bouquet is the perfect statement piece to add to any fall decor, and we hope you fall in love with every stem.

Cut the ends of your stems at an angle and allow them to hydrate in fresh water for at least 1 to 2 hours before arranging. This keeps your farm-fresh blooms looking their best from the moment they arrive.

Materials You Will Need

Step 1: Trim and Hydrate Your Flowers

Trim the bottom of the flower stems to your desired length using flower cutters. Cut the stems at an angle — this allows the flowers to drink the maximum amount of water. Then place the flowers in fresh water for at least 1 to 2 hours before arranging. Leave the corrugated wrap on during hydration. If any blooms appear slightly wilted upon arrival, follow our bloom revival guide to bring them back to life.

Step 2: Prepare Your Flowers

Remove the corrugated wrap and de-leaf the roses. Removing leaves is an important step for ensuring the petals get maximum hydration — leaves tend to absorb moisture that should be going to the blooms instead. This simple trick will keep your arrangement looking fresh and vibrant throughout the season.

Step 3: Arrange the Yellow and Orange Roses

Gently arrange the yellow roses and orange roses in the vase, using an equal amount of each. The roses should fill about a quarter of the final bouquet, creating a warm and balanced base of autumn color.

Step 4: Add the Spider Mums

Place the eye-catching yellow spider mums in the center or front of the bouquet. Their large, dramatic blooms will instantly draw attention and become the visual anchor of the arrangement.

Step 5: Add the Eryngium and Finishing Touches

Now add the statement piece: the eryngium. Place it throughout the bouquet to bring the arrangement together with texture, contrast, and a touch of deep blue that makes all the warm autumn tones pop. Step back and adjust any stems until you love what you see.
